Terms of Service

Plain terms for drywall work.

These terms cover drywall work by G&M Drywall Patch LLC. They are written to be read, not to be survived.

Estimates, and why they can change

An estimate is based on what can be seen when we look. Drywall hides things: a leak that travelled further along a joist than the stain suggested, framing that is not where it should be, insulation still holding water, or a previous repair done over the top of a problem instead of through it. If opening the wall or ceiling changes the work, we stop and tell you the new price before carrying on. You will never find out at the end.

Drying time and scheduling

Finishing is a layered trade and every coat has to dry before the next goes on. How long that takes depends on the room, the humidity and the season, so a schedule is an estimate too. Where a leak is still active, the plumbing or roofing has to be fixed by others before we close anything up.

Texture and colour matching

Texture is matched by hand against your existing surface, and we take that seriously. On walls that get direct sun, paint colour has usually shifted over the years, and a patch painted to match a faded wall can still read as a patch. Where that is the case we will tell you before starting and recommend painting corner to corner instead of promising something the wall will not allow.

Access, dust and the site

We need access to the room and somewhere to work. Sanding makes dust; floors and what stays in the room get covered before anything starts, and we clean at the end of each day rather than at the end of the job. Please move anything fragile or irreplaceable out of the room yourself before we arrive.

Payment

Payment terms are agreed with you before work starts and are written into the estimate. If the scope changes mid-job, the change is agreed before the work continues.

Photos of the work

We may photograph completed work for this website. Photos show the wall, the ceiling or the room — never your address, never anything that identifies you. Tell us if you would rather we did not, and that is the end of it.
