Knockdown, orange peel and hand texture matched to the wall you already have — in Denver and all around it.
Texture is what gives a repair away. The patch can be flat, the paint can be the right colour, and the wall still reads as repaired because the pattern across it changes where the new work starts.
Matching is done by hand, on site, against your wall — mixing to the right consistency, testing on a scrap, adjusting, and only then putting it up. A texture out of a can that says it is close is how you get a rectangle you can see from the doorway.
Knockdown depends as much on timing as on mix: sprayed, allowed to set, then knocked back at the right moment. Too early and it flattens to nothing, too late and it stays sharp and reads coarser than the wall around it. Orange peel is a spray pattern and a pressure, and the two have to be found again for every wall.
Hand textures are their own problem, because somebody troweled them once, thirty years ago, in a pattern they invented and nobody recorded. Those get read off your wall and copied by hand, which is slower and the only thing that works. Then it is feathered out past the repair so the transition happens somewhere your eye is not looking.
We look at the pattern, the depth and how it was made, because knockdown, orange peel and a hand trowel are three different jobs.
The mix is tested on a scrap and held against the wall. Adjusting on a test piece costs minutes; adjusting on your wall costs a re-do.
For knockdown, the wait between spraying and knocking is the whole match. That timing changes with the room and the day.
The new texture is carried out beyond the patch so the change lands in the middle of a wall instead of on its edge.
Raeford, Fayetteville and the towns around them are not one market — a Fort Bragg rental turning over, a brick ranch off Bragg Boulevard and a new build in Hope Mills are three different jobs.
